We are a mobile service providing REMS imaging for bone health assessment. We bring our services to individuals and central locations in South Florida to make getting a key part of your bone health management the most convenient it has ever been.
What is REMSSchedule an appointment online at home or at any of our partnership locations.
We go to you or you come to one of our partnership locations.
Rest comfortably while our tech peforms the scan in less than 10 minutes.
Instant results will be printed out for you right after the scan is done.
An official report read by one of our radiologists will be emailed to you and your provider.
Radiofrequency Echographic MultiSpectrometry (REMS) is a revolutionary imaging modality using radiation-free ultrasound based technology to accurately and quickly measure bone mineral density and fracture risk.
This technology was developed in Italy, has been in use in Europe for a number of years, and now is finally available with the full approval of the FDA for use in the U.S.
The three most important features of R.E.M.S.
Evaluation of Bone Mineral Density at the lumbar vertebrae (L1-L4) and the femoral neck providing all common parameters for the diagnosis of osteoporosis: BMD (g/cm2), T-scores, Z-scores.
Independent assessment of internal bone structure to evaluate the risk of fracture in 5 years through dedicated statistical and spectral analysis.
Analysis of the distribution of body components providing BMI, Body Fat and Basal Metabolism Rate measurements during the scan.
We are currently offering At-Home service to the Miami-Dade, Broward, and Palm Beach counties, as well as At-Location service at the following places:
We offer scans at home or at our partnership locations. We also offer a one time scan or a yearly plan which includes 3 scans per year at a considerable discount. If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to contact us.
Bonesight was founded by a team of radiology physicians who saw the need for a better solution for bone health. Started in south Florida in the Miami-Fort Lauderdale area, we aim to bring better, new technology in a way that makes it fast and easy for you to get the diagnostic imaging that you need.

Contact UsMany studies published in peer reviewed journals have demonstrated that REMS is at least as accurate as DEXA for the assessment of bone mineral density and fracture risk. There is evidence to suggest that the fracture risk calculation is actually superior to that of DEXA’s FRAX score.
Because there is no ionizing radiation, there is no risk of getting scans as frequently as you desire. However, if you receive a follow-up scan in too short of a time frame after your first scan, you may not be able to detect any realistic differences in bone mineral density. We would recommend a minimum of at least 3 months between scans, and many patients would likely be better served by waiting at least 6 months for follow-up imaging.
Currently no. However, as of January 2024, there is an official category III CPT code released by the Centers for Medicare Services (CMS), which means that its in the process o getting approval. Also, we are negotiating with private insurance payers with the help of Echolight to get reimbursement as soon as possible. Check back with us on a regular basis to see if we have successfully negotiated with your insurance carrier.
No, that is a different technology. REMS uses ultrasound as well as radiofrequency waves to better penetrate and imaging bone structure and density. Any pre-existing ultrasound based bone mineral density imaging you may have received is not related and has significantly lower accuracy and reproducibility.
Significant limitations for DEXA scans include over-estimation of density due to vascular calcification, osteophytes (bone spurs), and arthritic changes in the spine and hip. Orthopedic hardware like femoral screws and lumbar orthopedic hardware will render DEXA useless for those anatomical areas. REMS is capable of imaging around these implants to provide data that DEXA will never be able to. Also, REMS is a safe and effective way to get a second opinion, to either challenge or confirm findings from your DEXA scan before you engage in any potentially life changing treatments.
REMS is currently configured to provide diagnostic data for the lumbar spine and hip joints, same as a typical DEXA scan. Data is being collected on other body parts, which will soon offer the ability to perform REMS imaging on different areas such as the forearm.
